March 2008
We spent several evenings watching the sun go down on the beach at Howard Park. People were not the only ones who seemed to enjoy the sunset. There were always a great number of wading birds and gulls around at day's end.
The Great Blue Heron very calmly
watched the shore as it continued to
wade and fish as the sun went down
This Laughing Gull kept one eye on the water and
the other on various beachgoers - no doubt hoping
to scavenge any crumbs that might be left behind.
A Common Loon ignored the spectators and
the on-coming dark, swimming no further than
20 feet off-shore, no doubt heading home for
the evening.
